Sequoia Chevrolet steps up to the plateBy Juanita Adame The Sanger Herald Published: Thursday, March 31, 2011 7:59 AM PDT Sequoia Chevrolet presented a check to the City of Sanger girls softball as part of a national campaign to help little league programs around the country. “This is the first time we are receiving help and it will definitely make a difference in buying equipment and help girls softball become bigger and better,” said Sean Fitzgerald, City of Sangers, Recreation Director. A presentation of $500 was given to donate for supplies and gear that Fitzgerald said is needing replacement. “Some of our stuff has aged, and this will help us buy some new equipment.” The dealership will also provide baseball equipment, instructional clinics, a monetary donation, and an opportunity to raise $10,000 in funds through a Chevy vehicle give a way fund raiser. “There will be raffle tickets sold throughout the season for a chance to win a new car,” Fitzgerald said. “This is a national effort on behalf of Chevy, and we are very thankful because it will definitely help us out. Sequoia Chevrolet Buick GMC is part of a National Campaign that has partnered with baseball programs to raise funds through Chevy. “Baseball is a great American Past time and Chevrolet is proud to have a longstanding history with this tradition on a national level,” said Bernie Hinson, TITLE?for Sequoia Chevrolet Buick GMC. “Our youth baseball program in Sanger is truly cherished and we are happy and excited to support the kids in a significant way. A one time monetary donation check was presented by Sequoia Chevrolet Buick GMC to the City of Sanger Girls Softball League. The team will also have an opportunity to raise additional funds or their use as part of a Chevy Youth Baseball Fund raiser. The first game of girls softball begins this Saturday,?April 2 and games continue throughout May 14. |
